Cabbage Rolls

Cook large size cabbage in water with tsp. salt until tender. When outer leaves are soft remove cabbage from water and start removing leaves.


Mix together:

1 lb. lean ground beef, browned

1/2 cup rice

1 chopped onion

1 egg

1 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. pepper


Mix together in bowl. Roll one Tbsp. meat mixture in each leaf and roll up and use toothpick to hold. Use most cabbage as long as you can roll meat up. Cut up rest of cabbage. Add all rolls together in pan and cook with 2 cups veg. juice and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Simmer for 1 hour. Better the second day. Makes 8-10 servings
