Easy Sugar Cookies

When it comes to Christmas cookies or any cut-out cookies for decorating, this is the best recipe I've ever come across. And a nice bonus to the fact that it's super simple to whip together!

Ingredients:

1 cup butter or oleo

1 1/2 cup sugar

3 eggs

1/2 tsp. salt

1 tsp. soda dissolved in 1 Tbsp. hot water

1/2 tsp. vanilla

about 5 cups flour

Directions:

Beat eggs, butter, sugar and salt in large bowl; add soda water and vanilla. Add flour; knead until smooth. Roll thin and cut with cookie cutter. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes

Egg Yolk Paint: Combine 1 egg yolk, beaten and 1/4 tsp. water. Divide mixture into small containers; add different color food coloring to each one. Paint cookies before baking.
