Mom’s Lasagna


Ingredients:

1 lb. ground beef

10 oz. lasagna noodles

1/2 lb. pork sausage

1 1/2 tsp. salt

1 Tbsp. whole basil

1 can tomatoes

2 (6-oz) cans tomato paste

1 clove garlic, minced

1 lb. sliced mozzarella cheese

3 cups small curd cottage cheese

1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

2 Tbsp. parsley flakes

2 beaten eggs

2 tsp. salt

Dash of pepper


Directions:

Brown meat slowly; spoon off fat. Add basil, salt, tomatoes, tomato paste, and garlic, stirring often. Simmer 1/2 hour uncovered. Cook noodles until tender in salted water. Drain and rinse in cold water.


Mix together cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, parsley flakes, eggs, salt and pepper.

Place 1/2 noodles in buttered 9x13" baking dish. Spread with 1/2 of the cheese mixture. Add 1/2 the meat sauce. Repeat. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes.
