Orange Sherbet Salad

I’ve got two different recipes named “Orange Sherbet Salad”, so listing them both here. Not really sure which one is my favorite – guess some day I’ll have to make them both to test them and see.

Orange Sherbet Salad

Mary Lou ("Grandma") Konrad

Combine:

1 pkg. orange Jell-O

1 pkg. lemon Jell-O

2 cups hot water

Cool above and add:

1 can mandarin oranges and juice

1 sm. can crushed pineapple, drained

Cool till real cold. Add: 1 pint orange sherbet. Place in ring mold or pan. Chill.

Orange Sherbet Salad

6 oz. pkg. orange gelatin

1 cup boiling water

1 cup orange juice

2 cups lemon, orange or pineapple sherbet

11 oz. can mandarin oranges, drained

In a small bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Add orange juice and sherbet; blend until sherbet is melted and mixture is smooth. Chill until thickened, but not set, about 30 minutes. Fold in oranges. Pour into oiled 8 inch square pan. Chill until firm, about 2 hours. To serve, un-mold or cut into squares.

Makes 6 servings.
