Poppy Seed Bread

From Mom's "Green Recipe Folder"


Ingredients:

3 cups flour 1 1/2 cups milk 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/8 cup oil 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 2 1/4 cup sugar 3 eggs 1 1/2 tsp. butter flavoring, optional 2 Tbsp. poppy seeds 1 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring 2 tsp. vanilla


Directions:

Grease pans. Put all ingredients into a bowl and mix until smooth. Can use in 2 loaf pans or one 9x13 inch cake pan. Bake at 350 for 45-60 minutes. Cool 5 minutes. Poke with toothpick and put on glaze. Topping: 1/4 cup orange juice 1/2 tsp. butter flavoring, optional 3/4 cup sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring Heat until sugar dissolves. Cool 5 minutes. Put on bread.
