Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients:

1 can mushroom soup

1/2 cup milk   

1 small onion (chopped)

salt and pepper

1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (reserve some for on top)

4 cups. thinly sliced raw potatoes

2 cups ham, sliced


Directions:

Warm soup, milk, onion and most of cheese together in a small saucepan until mixture is will blended. Generously butter a 1 1/2 quart casserole. Put the raw sliced potatoes, seasoned with salt and pepper, in casserole. Cover with the soup mixture. Sprinkle with remaining cheese on top; cover. Bake at 350 for about an hour, or until potatoes are fully cooked. Uncover and bake 15 minutes more. Makes 6 - 7 servings.


Cream of celery soup may be substituted for the mushroom soup. You can also use the recipe for Basic White Sauce to make your own homemade soup mix.
