Strawberry Coffee Cake


Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup sugar

1 1/2 cups flour     

1 1/2 tsp. baking powder    

1 egg, slightly beaten

1 tsp. vanilla

2 cups sliced strawberries, divided

1/2 cup sliced almonds

Powdered sugar


Topping:

2 cups sour cream

2 egg yolks

1/2 cup sugar

1 tsp. Vanilla


Directions:

Preheat oven to 350. Cream butter and sugar. Combine flour and baking powder; add to creamed mixture. Mix in egg and vanilla. Pat into a greased 9" spring-form pan, and sprinkle with 1 1/2 cups sliced strawberries. Prepare topping and pour it over strawberries. Bake for approximately 1 hour. Before serving sprinkle remaining strawberries, almonds and powdered sugar over the cake, ending with the powdered sugar.
